They travel the musical road south from Memphis to New Orleans as they pick up the songs of BB King, Joe Williams, The Meters, The Neville Brothers, Sonny Landreth, Professor Longhair, Delbert McClinton, The Wild Magnolias and many many more. This lively Blues quartet are a crowd-pleasing favourite at MBAS, led by the entertaining, engaging Peter Jackson (Vocals & Congas) with Jeff Mead (Sax & Vocals), Gary Jones (Hammond Organ) and Nick Mierisch (Drums).Photo credit: Jason Mckeown ********ABOUT THE MBAS: Formed in 1990, the MBAS is a volunteer-run not-for-profit organisation, managed by passionate blues music lovers, for blues music lovers and blues performers. MBAS hosts free weekly Tuesday night live music events and blues jams from its clubhouse at Flemington Bowls Club. It also hosts periodic special ticketed events and publishes a free weekly newsletter and gig guide "Blues Weekly" for subscribers. MBAS initiatives such as the annual Memphis Blues Challenge, Women ‘N’ Blues Program and the Youth in Blues Program are funded by its weekly blues jam raffle drives, Membership and donations.
